The detector unit reacts to the signal of the motion detector with a selectable melody and the flashing light or only with the flashing light. Unfortunately, it is not possible to set only a melody without lighting up the blue LEDs. (See also the instructions for use, paragraph Intended use: "The gong unit signals with a melody AND/or an optical flashing light".
