Question about Netgear Hotspot Nighthawk M1
Good evening all Can anyone tell me whether you can use a VPN service (NordVPN, ProtonVPN or similar) with the device, i.e. is an OpenVPN or IKEv2/IPSec-compatible VPN client installed on it? Unfortunately, it seems that you can't install openWRT (https://openwrt.org/) or similar on it yet. So I guess I'll have to rely on the original manufacturer's firmware... Many thanks and greetings

Regarding the 2 questions.
"VPN service (NordVPN, ProtonVPN or similar)" -> yes via the clients of your operating system.
"Is an OpenVPN or IKEv2/IPSec capable VPN client installed on it? It seems that you cannot install openWRT (openwrt.org/) or similar on it yet" -> unfortunately no. You'll have to build something with a Raspberry Pi or similar.
The firmware of the router is spartan and only includes the most necessary. No comparison to a Fritzbox. I have already browsed through all the menus several times and have not seen an entry for a VPN service anywhere. However, this is not a 100% sure statement. I recommend studying the operating instructions online.
