Synology RS820+
Question about Synology RS820+
Hi, Why is this model so expensive? If we compare the DS920+, there are not a lot of differences and it's half the price. For me, it's more useful to have a rack model but not at this price. I saw the RS819 but it has poor performances and not compatible with Active Backup or other useful services...
Besides the RS820+ has the slower CPU.
I don't know exactly, but Rack NAS are always much more expensive then Desktop NAS.
Maybe because they are mechanically more robust, are more reliable, have server grade cooling solution, might redundant power supply option, etc. It has to work in a server cabinet 24h for sure.
