I have the Zyxel AX7501-B1 and would like to place the router in the living room as an extension. Can I simply connect the router via the connected LAN interface? How do I have to configure it? Unfortunately I'm not that familiar with this :)

You would have to set the TP Link router's web interface (accessible at tplinkwifi.net) to access point (AP mode) and adjust the WLAN access data if necessary.
