Is it possible to extend the Wifi 6 signal of the Nighthawk M5 router directly with a single mesh extender? Therefore without buying an additional mesh router. Which Netgear models are supported?

Unfortunately, this is not possible. You would have to connect this modem to a mesh router (or system) via cable.
