Is it possible to use the device as a Wi-Fi extender, e.g. to connect to a public hotspot at 2.4GHz and then use the connected hotspot via 5Ghz from personal devices? WLAN extender is the term Huawei uses for this, Netgear calls the function WLAN offloading.

Pity but this device does not have that function. I bought it only because of it. Without it its useless. Any modern phone has hotspot functionality...

I have not connected the device to the local WLAN and do not know whether this is even possible. I only use the device with a SIM card as a mobile WLAN.
