It was possible to reorder the cable free of charge. The shipping took many weeks. However, it is surprising that it is not supplied directly, as it is a special cable that costs only a few cents to manufacture. The costs for shipping and handling borne by the manufacturer are certainly a multiple of the costs saved, even if one assumes that very few people order the cable.
