Question about Synology DS1821+

Question for the Synology community... I'm looking for a new NAS and Synology is on the shortlist along with Promise Pegasus. Are there any problems with using Synology with MacOS (file system, file names etc.)? Internally, HFS+ and the like are not supported. Does anyone here have any experience with MacOS?

Helpful answer

Runs without problems with Mac:
It is best to use SMB as the protocol, the file system of the Syno does not matter (Btrfs recommended).

My office has 20 Macs and we recently bought this model as a backup for our network in the cloud. It's a very pleasant surprise. Easy to configure and use. A few of us use it live as a server and it works really well too!
