With "Swiss Performance," the editorial team of archithese presents groundbreaking or controversial buildings at the beginning of each year that have been realized in Switzerland or by Swiss architects worldwide over the past twelve months. This is not only about representations through text, images, and plans, but also about contextualization, meta-levels, and sub-contexts of the works— in short: comprehensive architectural critiques. In addition to established firms, we also showcase compelling designs from young offices. Thus, the retrospective also becomes a look ahead: Are there new or established themes that need to be addressed and discussed? Additionally, look forward to a second round in the discourse on the role of contemporary architectural photography: This year, the imagery comes from the photography class of the Department of Architecture at ETH Zurich, led by Tobias Wootton.
