The SunSun JP-023F aquarium pump combines an aquarium filter and a circulation pump in one unit.

Circulation pumps play an important role in aquaristics, especially in marine aquariums, as corals and certain fish rely on a natural current. They simulate this natural flow within the aquarium. Often, circulation pumps are installed in opposing directions to create a diffuse current.

The currents generated by the aquarium pump limit the settling of unwanted sediments on the aquarium floor. The outlet nozzle, measuring 16 mm, can be tilted 45° to the left and right, allowing for optimal placement within the aquarium. Additionally, fresh air can be supplied to the aquarium water through a hose attached to the outlet nozzle.

The pump performance is 1000 l/h and can be used in aquariums with a water volume of 80 to 120 liters. The wear-free stainless steel shaft ensures a long lifespan for the aquarium pump.

The integrated aquarium filter features two filter stages that can be easily replaced or mounted individually. Each filter stage contains a filter sponge that provides a large surface area for beneficial bacteria to colonize. Furthermore, the filter sponges prevent the ingress of suspended particles into the pump body of the aquarium pump. By using filter sponges, the nitrate levels in the aquarium are reduced, and the aquarium water is cleansed of chemical contaminants.

When acquiring a new aquarium filter or after a complete cleaning, it is necessary to re-establish the beneficial bacteria. There are special bacterial cultures that can be added to the aquarium filter to facilitate this process.
