I had such a device for three years and there is definitely no vibro noise. More like a hissing noise. You can hear it when the door is closed, but it's not extremely loud. You have to turn the TV up a bit.

I briefly consulted the manufacturer and received the following answer: It mainly depends on the leg length, namely the inner leg length, measured according to the picture in the appendix from point 4 to point 2. If this length is more than 96.5 cm, then we recommend the use of an extended roll bar - this can be ordered separately. However, we have only once had the case of a gentleman under 2.05m tall, this gentleman was 2.03m tall but had disproportionately long legs, therefore he needed the extended roller rail. Normally, it only becomes a problem from 2.07m. Picture : https://ibb.co/sKKVZjR

Attention: The current information (April 2025) from Galaxus in the model selection fields under the title Height (61cm or 65cm) is total rubbish. 61cm is actually the width of the assembled Concept2 RowErg and applies to both the standard and the tall version and has nothing to do with the seat height. Nobody knows what the 65cm are supposed to mean... so if Galaxus thinks that these are the height specifications for the versions, that's wrong and would be the wrong way round. According to Galaxus, the Tall version would be lower at 61cm than the Standard version at 65cm. On the Concepts2 homepage, the manufacturer writes: "Our standard RowErg has a seat height of 36cm, while our raised version has higher legs that offer a seat height of 51cm. The raised version is a good choice if you appreciate the comfort and appearance of a taller unit. The raised seat height can also make it easier to get on and off." The higher version is therefore not necessarily intended by the manufacturer for taller people. The lower seat height of the standard version works just as well for tall people as it does for me at 173cm tall. A colleague of mine is 189cm tall and has no problems whatsoever with my standard version of the Concept2 RowErg, so you won't be "standing" anywhere while rowing. The length of the running rail/monorail would be the limiting factor for significantly taller people. However, this is the same length for both versions on sale. Quote from the manufacturer: "Users with an inside leg length of more than 96.5cm may need an extra long monorail. Please contact us for further information." I think the standard length of the monorail is easily sufficient for a body height of 194cm... even if I don't know the corresponding inside leg length of course. Once again about the seat height. If you want to keep the option open to add slides and/or FlowRow boards (both not available on Galaxus) to your Concept2 at a later date, I would definitely favour the lower seat height of the standard version. Otherwise the overall structure will be too high and too unstable.

I bought my rower many years ago (I actually also owned the original wooden on while I lived in the US). It seems they have changed the name of it over time - when I bought it they called it the model D. Now it’s apparently the RowErg - I think it’s the same thing (but call them up to make sure - they have a Swiss number I think to contact and the service is good - I used to interact with them in the past). I got it with the PM5 computer. Concept2 builds the best machines for rowing workouts. I’m very pleased with my machine.

Hi - Concept2 is the “originall rowing machine dating back to the 1980’s (I had the original one also back then). It’s the machine all rowing clubs use. You also find it in many gyms. They have world championships on this thing when people all over the world compete over fixed distances with fixed resistance. Since Concept2 started the rowing machine craze many others got into the game but honestly I would never buy anything other than the Concept2. The only thing you need to consider is that given the air resistance wheel it does make a bit of noise (other machines with the same resistance system also do). In either case - as I said - to me there is only one rowing machine to have in your gym and it’s Concept2. Incredibly durable construction and gives you what you need in terms or information etc. John

Hard to say, not having tested both one after the other. But the version with water like this one: Merach Wooden Rowing Machine MR-902/YS Bluetooth & App Natural Wood Colour is nice and feels like being on a lake which is quite satisfying. Now this is just my opinion. :) We'll leave the question open if anyone else has tried it.
