C-clamps are used when high clamping forces are required with as uniform clamping widths as possible, primarily in metal and steel construction. The C-clamp is considered the original form of the screw clamp. Various materials have been used in its production, including versions made entirely of wood in the past. Today, models with forged arms as well as VC clamps in proven BESSEY all-steel quality are available on the market. The special feature of the VC clamp is that its arm is made from original BESSEY profile steel produced in-house, heat-treated, and electro-galvanized. This results in significantly higher tensile strength compared to cast versions.
