The stand can withstand small gusts of wind without additional weighting, but we recommend adding weight for greater safety. We use thicker struts, which are twice as expensive but significantly increase the durability of your umbrella. It is advisable to set up the umbrella in a wind-protected area and retract it during light gusts. The stand we offer is sufficient for wind force 3. Filling the stand with water and sand is a good idea. For higher demands, we also provide other umbrella stands with greater weights. A general guideline for better stability is: Umbrella up to 2 m: approximately 20 kg, Umbrella up to 3 m: approximately 40-50 kg, Umbrella up to 4 m: approximately 80-100 kg, Umbrella up to 5 m: approximately 125-150 kg. Calculations such as 1 kg per 10 cm diameter are not accurate, as they do not consider the multiplied canopy area.
