The DE version of the FRITZ!Box 7690 is ideally suited for use in Switzerland.
The difference between the versions is that the international version does not have a language preselected and different cables are included depending on the country in which the box is purchased.
You can connect FTTH fibre via an external ONT to the router using the 2.5 Gbps WAN port on this device. It does not have a direct fibre input, but supports connection via an external ONT connected to the 2.5 Gbps WAN port, allowing FTTH fibre with speeds of up to 2.5 Gbps download and 1 Gbps upload.

Since I had problems with the box, I have returned it. This had nothing to do with entering the Internet supplier. However, I have a 7570 box. The configuration is similar for this one. Try "Select another supplier" in the Internet provider and enter Sunrise if possible.
Hello, in our flat the fibre optic connection is in the fuse box in the storage room and there I can connect a cable from the router to the different plugs that go into each room, but we don't want to connect all the devices with cables. I have a very poor wifi signal in the whole flat because the router is so hidden. Now my question is, can I plug in the Fritz!Box 7690 International in the living room, for example, and then have wifi? I have a Wingo Internet subscription. I'm a bit of a leaner when it comes to things like this.

According to the answer to PeterZ632's question regarding use in Switzerland, the "Swiss version" should be used instead of the 7690 International.
For other Fritz boxes there are dedicated CH/A versions for the 7690, there is currently a 7690 (DE version) in the Digitec range but I can't find a CH version. Can I order the DE version (https://www.digitec.ch/de/s1/product/avm-fritzbox-7690-de-version-router-46197004) or is there another version for Switzerland?

I bought the Fritzbox a few weeks ago and am generally very happy with it. It's really good, especially in terms of speed. What is a bit annoying, however, are the brief disconnections of the Internet connections. This is apparently a known problem - as I have read on the net. AVM advises the following:
1. click on "Internet" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
2. click on "Access data" in the "Internet" menu
3. click on "Change connection settings".
4. activate the option "Permanently hold (recommended for flat rate tariffs)". If the option is not displayed, the FRITZ!Box already establishes the Internet connection permanently. 5.
5. click on "Apply" to save the settings.
Unfortunately, I really can't find this option in the Fritzbox - and so there should be no interruptions. But this is not the case. It still interrupts at least 1-2 times a day. Usually at the same time.
Can anyone give me a tip?

The CH version was only relevant if the box was connected to an analogue DSL connection (not ISDN) and there was no modem from the provider between the box and the connection. The reason for this was that Swisscom made a distinction here, with an analogue connection there was more bandwidth for DSL than with ISDN. In Germany, only the modulation for ISDN was used, regardless of whether there was an analogue or ISDN connection (with a corresponding restriction on the maximum bandwidth for analogue connections). The D version has therefore always worked in CH on ISDN DSL.
The disadvantage of the CH/International version was the very slow update supply. As I have always used the boxes on ISDN and later behind a TV cable modem, I have always explicitly used the D version and have never regretted it.
