The docking station is compatible with Windows, including Windows 11, and should work automatically, but it may be necessary to install the latest drivers to ensure the best performance.
USB-C is the physical connection and Thunderbolt is a protocol that comes from Intel. Basically, it makes absolutely no difference whether USB-C or Thunderbolt, as both are compatible with each other. The important thing is that the bandwidth is the same in comparison. I would otherwise recommend the following article: HP G2 Thunderbolt
No guarantee for "full", but I had a previous model and the G2 & G5 were able to connect the notebook to two monitors. 2x Ultra-Wide probably not, 1x Ultra-Wide and 1x normal should work.
My dock is very quiet. The fan only comes on very rarely. However, we also have the same docks in the office where there are individual devices where the fan runs almost permanently. So far, no one has been able to tell me what the problem is.
I was able to update the driver with my Windows PC. Unfortunately, I have no experience with Apple devices. But I assume that you can update your dock with a Windows device.
You can determine this very easily.
If there is a lightning symbol next to the USB-C port of your notebook, then your notebook is Thunderbolt compatible and you can use this docking station.
The original power supply has 120 watts, this one has 100 watts. If you don't need your notebook anymore, you can also use this one.
ProXtend AC100WUSBC (100 W)
If you want the original power supply, you have to contact HP directly.
Hello
In theory you shouldn't have any problems because as the description says it's v3 (Enjoy the flexibility and convenience of a universal dock for all your Thunderbolt 3 and USB-C devices)
But I haven't done the test so I can't certify that everything will be optimal with the LG.
Due to different suppliers and delivery conditions, there may be delivery differences compared to other suppliers. We always try to keep delivery times in line with the market, but this is not possible for all products.
In general, for the HP 470 G7, HP recommends : HP USB-C/A Universal Dock G2 as extra equipment, but as it is not available in our range at the moment, any model from the G2 family will do : https://www.galaxus.ch/Comparison/11819338-9389800-9462854
There are adapters, but I would be careful because Thunderbolt can do some functions that you would lose with an adapter.
It also depends on what you want to do with it and what other connections your laptop has. Maybe there is a more suitable device...
We had this problem with a new company laptop. With an original HP DisplayPort cable and a graphics card soft firmware update, it flew.
Unfortunately, I cannot say whether this always works.
The power cable is separate, so it can be removed from the docking station. I know the plug from other HP devices. However, I can't say whether the cable can be bought separately (it probably can).
We use the docking station with various HP notebooks with USB-C or Thunderbolt and have no problems with it. Unfortunately, an EliteBook 1040 is not included, but it should work. I would also be confident with the Fujitsu.
With the HP EliteBook 1030 X360 G2, we have already had a problem with the USB-C port several times. The mainboard of one device had to be replaced three times because the port broke. However, the docking station is not responsible for this.
The doc stations have a LAN connection, but they are never WLAN-compatible, because they are intended for laptops, which always have WLAN as well. So a WLAN adapter on a doc station doesn't really make sense?
This is most likely a software problem. Download the Hp SoftPaq Download Manager from the HP site and install the necessary software. It worked for me, but with a different HP model.
I am using an HP EliteBook 1030 G1 which was supplied to me by the company I work for and which I would like to be able to connect to my personal screen when I am teleworking.
My display is an LG UltraFine 5K Monitor that I bought from Apple because I have a Mac at home. This monitor can only be connected via Thunderbolt 3.
My question is whether the HP G2 dock would allow me to connect my HP EliteBook 1030 G1 to my LG 5K UltraFine Monitor?
I know that the 5K resolution of the screen will not pass and I accept that as I just want to do administrative work from home.
Well, digitec is once again making a mess of the specifications. Actually, both also have (almost) the same manufacturer's number 2UK37AA(#UUZ). One item is missing the # suffix. Some of the specifications are also incomplete, e.g. in the case of the cheaper item, the VGA specification is missing under video connections, although it is clearly visible in the picture, or the picture is wrong?
I myself bought the cheaper one, which according to the order confirmation has the digitec item number 9389800. when I physically look at it like this, I see that it has VGA and the HP P/N 2UK37AA#UUZ
To be sure, you need to contact digitec with your question.
PS: importantly, this docking station only has a USB-C plug for the connection to the notebook, so no combination cable, as is sometimes necessary with certain HP notebooks.
According to the HP page, the HP Elite Book 850 G6 has a Thunderbolt port (USB-C with a small lightning bolt), so the device should work with the docking station. By chance, the HP page also suggests a bundle of the notebook with the G2 docking station. So the chance should be very high that the two will work together.
Personally, I use the docking station with various notebooks from different manufacturers, and it works perfectly every time. Ultra-Wide and Multi-Display are also supported flawlessly.
