This should basically work without any problems. The docking station probably works with almost all Windows devices. I have used it myself in combination with a Surface Book 2 - it works. In the shop, we even tried out an Android USB-C mobile phone with it once. As far as I can remember, no image came up straight away, but a mouse pointer appeared that could be controlled effectively.

I now know 3 people (myself included) who have bought this product. I'm super happy with it (have 2 screens, 1 gigabit ethernet as well as a USB 3.1 device connected and everything runs smoothly and on high speed) but in 2 out of 3 cases it doesn't load either. And in the it-loads case also only slowly. No idea why, maybe it's the driver, we haven't found the solution ourselves yet. We have an HP ZBook Studio G5. As a solution, we simply plugged an additional power supply unit into the notebook. So there are 2 cables on the notebook, not just 1. Doesn't really bother me now. Cheers.
According to the compatibility list in the HP Store, this docking station only fits business laptops (Pro and Elitebooks).
Hello, had this message too. HP doesn't seem to offer any other docking stations, so the message is forgettable. My Elitebook has enough power. It doesn't run optimally for other reasons - hope that's not the case with you....
Advantage of this docking is that it also runs with other laptops - disadvantage from my point of view: it is too big and heavy.
Regarding the price difference:
The more expensive one comes with an adapter and the other one does not. If you look at the second picture, you will see it)-.
Regarding resolution:
Please note that a dokin station is NOT an external graphics card! So you can only "drive" the resolutions that your laptop supports. Two monitors with up to 4K resolution can be connected to the Dokingstation, but if your graphics in the laptop can't do that, then it won't work.

The product description states:
Operating system compatibility: Windows. There are no drivers for Linux on the HP site. I would check the compatibility for Linux with a Linux OS. Thinkpad X1 USB-C docking work with Linux.
Hello Klick, unfortunately you are providing us with (too) little information. USB3 /2 /1 is backwards compatible. What kind of port does your printer have? What operating system is used, are there drivers for the printer for this operating system. With more information, it may be possible to provide some assistance. The manufacturer of the printer may also be able to help.

As far as I know, when you connect the docking station, a CD drive still appears, which is visible in My Computer. Have you already run the setup on it? Drivers are still being added.

if the device has a USB-C port, yes. The charging power may have to be compared with the power consumption of the laptop; a ProBook 17" occasionally reports that the charging power is low. But it still works very well.

The manufacturer does not specify compatibility with devices from other manufacturers. Therefore, this cannot be guaranteed.

This station is Microsoft as well as Apple compatible ;-)
I use it for my Surface 7, which is perfect.
But it also works with my MacBook Air 2013 via the included USB-C to USB-A adapter.
Hi. I have an HP laptop myself, but my partner has a Lenovo Thinkpad and the two monitors connected via DP cable work perfectly for her. Have you installed the docking software/driver that it shows you as a drive when you plug in the USB-C cable? Alternatively, you can download the docking software/driver from the HP website.
Yes, that works. But how well it works depends, I think, on the entire hardware (adapter, cable, screen, notebook).
If I connect my Surface Book to my Alienware 4K display with this docking, everything works wonderfully (Nvidia graphics card). If I use my HP notebook from the shop (Intel graphics chip), then grey parts of programmes on the screen flicker a little.... Obviously I have something wrong with it.

No, it does not have a start button. It must be started directly on the unit.
Hello Luciusmueller, the Macbook Pro requires 65W power on the USB-C. I think the 60W is not enough, but you would have to try it out if in doubt...

Hoi, this docking also works with Lenovo. Just check if 60W is enough if you want to charge with USB-C.

Use the dock with two 24 inch, full HD monitors. The monitors are connected via the two display ports. This works perfectly. I use an HP Elite X2 (i5-7200U, 8GB).
