In re wattage, the dock is powered by ThinkPad Slim-tip 135 W AC power adapter, do it charges my Lenovo without problems.You might be able to find something smaller if you just need DP or HDMI, this has both.
It also works with an HP notebook. The only thing it doesn't do is load but everything else works fine.
Also worked for me with HP. The only one that didn't deliver a picture was when screens with DisplayPort were connected to the solving station: Apple notebooks ;)
