I would like to purchase the Ricoh (formerly FPU) ScanSnap ix1600 in black. However, I can't find any colour options here at Galaxus. At other German suppliers you can choose the colour. Am I looking for the wrong colour or do I have to buy it somewhere else if I want the black version?

Unfortunately, we can currently only arrange the scanner in this colour.

Unfortunately I have a connection problem no connection Scan (!) device to Mac via Wlan. You also have a problem with Mac and Scansnap since the update to MacOS Sequoia. Scansnap software is also updated. Connection is currently only possible via USB cable or app. Or after reinstalling the Scansnap software it works but after restarting the PC it no longer works.

I am accessing Scansnap via Windows - so I don't know if it will help: I have the same problem. Apparently the IP address changes and the PC and Scansnap can no longer find each other. What helps me: Deactivate the WLAN function in Scansnap (in the Wi-Fi settings), confirm and then reactivate.

The scanner offers various resolutions such as Auto, Normal, Better, Best and Excellent. These can be stored in the profiles in the same way as B/W and colour. However, there is no explicit limit of 1MB. The included Kofax software also allows files to be reduced in batch mode. But even there I know of no limitation to a specific target size.

The test portal, testsieger.de, mentions that the Fujitsu ScanSnap IX1600 scanner can be connected via LAN in addition to USB and can be integrated as a network scanner. Furthermore, it has an integrated WLAN module. Under connectivity, only USB and WLAN are mentioned. Is LAN available? Thank you Ly

After configuration with a PC (not tried without a PC), you can scan via Wifi without a PC into your favourite cloud (tested with onedrive and Google drive)! For the USB I think it is not possible.

I am looking for a document scanner that we can operate on an Apple and a Windows computer. The documents should be stored in the cloud from both devices - and should be accessible and processable there from both devices. We have this scanner in operation at our customers with the manufacturer's software under Windows 10, Windows 11 and MacOS, but the scan is done on a NAS. We have not had such good experiences in operation with WLAN. In addition, the scanner does not support a Twain / ISIS connection.

I can't imagine that. You would have to save the url and the access data on/in the scanner.

Does anyone have experience with the iX1600 on a Mac? Does the scanner work properly? What about the document software that comes with it? On the Fujitsu HP it says "no support for MacOS..." under device drivers. Is that really the case? Thank you!

I use the scanner on the Mac Pro (2013), Macbook Pro 2014 Mojave and on M1 Mac with Big Sur - no problems at all, drivers are installed and updated without any problems via the Can software - OCR also works perfectly! I recommend it - the only minus is the WLAN configuration, which is a bit tricky!

I would like to know the difference between the scansnap ix1500 and ix 1600. The 1500 is only 12.- more expensive, but does it perform better?

I have both in use. They are almost identical, but the ix1600 is a good deal faster (I think 60ppm instead of 50ppm) (+20). But, 50ppm is already quite fast.

Unlike the US version, the European version does not have 5GHz WLAN. According to Fujitsu, this is due to a different firmware. Does anyone know how to install the American firmware?

No, it's not possible - it's a feeder scanner that only feeds in individual pages in a stack. Therefore, only a flatbed scanner is suitable for you, e.g. HP Scanjet Pro 2500 F1.
