Hello, I use the UDM Pro in WLAN failover. And have in SFP from Ubiquiti. On WAN2 (StarLink). Works without problem and the failover is very reliable. The ports can be set to DHCP or even BridgeMode.

As long as no open ports are required on the WAN interface, you can simply connect the WAN port of the Dream Machine to a LAN port of an existing router without having to adapt its configuration. We have already done this several times.

Two possible (simple) scenarios come to mind. 1. have you connected the IB to the WAN connection of the UDM? 2. have you changed the IP and IP range on one of the two routers? I would change the IP of the IB3 to something like 192.168.100.1. Two times 192.168.1.1 (usually default IP) in a row does not work.

Yes, the UDM is quite deep and heavy. If your rack also has rails at the rear, then you can also install equipment racks such as this Intertech equipment rack for server racks Max. Regarding the idea with the switch: I prefer to leave one U of air between the devices, especially if the rack is not actively ventilated.

Hello, The pure hardware/software limitation matrix is there: https://evanmccann.net/blog/ubiquiti/unifi-comparison-charts?format=amp Then depending of the number of clients and the TCP stack limitations of each of them (eg MTU, windows etc) you may not achieve the max throughput and it’s normal …

Hello, Yes, you can. Port 10 (top) is for internet and port 11 (bottom) for LAN. Fiber 7 works fine. SFP for fibre 7: Flexoptix P.B1696.10.AD (supplied by Init7). For LAN I don't need a 10G SFP. They all work in general. If you want to be sure, take the ones from Ubiquiti. They are cheap and ok.
