Wirewin

Optimal for use in racks and for VoIP applications. 4-pair twisted, AWG36, with a robust nylon jacket.

Cat6 cables are designed for operating frequencies up to 250 MHz and are used for signal transmission at high data rates (1 Gbps). Due to the high signal frequencies, special care is required during installation and assembly, particularly at the connection points of the wires. The individual wire pairs in Cat6 are twisted at different tightness levels, which further reduces susceptibility to interference compared to Cat5e. Application areas for Cat-6 cables include voice and data transmission as well as multimedia and ATM networks. Even more powerful are cables according to Cat6e (500 MHz) and Cat6a (625 MHz).

The Wirewin Slim Tough cable is a robust, shielded twisted-pair cable (STP) with a strain relief. A significant advantage of the slim patch cables lies in the cabling of racks and 48-port switches. The extremely thin design and high flexibility prevent cable tangling, thus maintaining clarity.

A Wirewin Cat6 Slim Tough cable features a flexible and wide strain relief as well as a robust nylon jacket. It is the optimal solution for connecting IP phones to your network. Thanks to the nylon jacket, the cables can be easily untangled, making them suitable for mobile applications, such as connecting a laptop or as a travel companion.

AWG36: The AWG (American Wire Gauge) system is based on the manufacturing process of wires and describes the wire gauge of the copper wire. AWG36 corresponds to a conductor cross-section of 0.0127 mm².

Patch cable type

The cable type, describes the structure of a network cable. Fiber optic cables are suitable for distribution over longer distances (up to 80 km) and are resistant to interference. Copper cables can be used for distances up to 100 m and are cheaper to purchase.

Contact assignment

The contact assignment provides information on how the network cable can be used. An uncrossed cable can be used to connect terminals to the network, while a crossed cable can be used to connect two terminals.
