Of course, I can't tell you anything about the price reduction. I only see that we paid 99.- more than it is now offered for. As far as I know, the black and red versions are exactly the same machine, as all 3 colours were listed on the box.
Aside from a technical defect, that would happen if you either don‘t add enough coffee, or the grind setting is too coarse. I have the grinder on mine on 3 for coarseness and and the fill level at appx. ⅔. That works just fine for most of the beans I use.
Yes, this product is the new product. For me, this portafilter is amazing. I have tried different types of coffee. I'm sticking with Badilatti, Switzerland's highest roasting company in Zuoz. It fits perfectly with the portafilter.
The dimensions are the following:
depth: 370mm
width: 380mm
height: 445mm
Unfortunately, our supplier can't give us the detail about the size of the grinder. I'm sorry.
So maybe it's just me, but there are a lot of things wrong with this machine?
Grinding beans:
The lowest grind (a 1) is still overly coarse. This is far from fine powder for an espresso.
And yes, as described in the instructions, I only ever lowered the grind level by one per grinding process.
That's where the next problem comes in.
Adjusting the grind:
The grinder must be running so that you can only change one stage at a time. Who thought of that? And you can't see anywhere which level you are currently at.
Coffee powder quantity:
Even on the lowest setting, far too much powder comes out for the small sieve. With the large sieve, it just about opens up on the lowest setting.
So the conclusion to the grinder is totally unusable. The only good thing is the integrated tamper, but due to the above-mentioned situation, it can't get anything more out.
Brewing coffee:
Because you get such a poor quality of coffee powder, you either can't even get the plunger in because there is too much powder. Or it builds up practically no pressure. And you can't use the sieve anyway, as already mentioned above because of the quantity.
Is there anything else that can be done? I doubt it, as long as the mill cannot grind finely and the quantity cannot be adjusted cleanly, there is nothing more that can be done from my point of view.
Or is it just me who has these problems with the machine?
I am actually very satisfied with the machine. Recently, however, I have had something to complain about.
The portafilter plunger keeps slipping out of the holder during the brewing process - the portafilter plunger slowly loosens towards the left, although it actually locks firmly into place after the tampering process. The result is a dirty kitchen and smashed coffee utensils.
Does anyone have the same problem? The coffee machine has already been sent in and came back with the same problem. Do I need to buy a new piston? Can this wear out over time? Help - i need Coffee
@fabian010290
I see this exactly the same as you. I too have the same problems, have already sent my machine in once, have also made a video call with a DeLonghi employee, however it still does not work. The DeLonghi specialist told me that something was wrong with the water supply, temperature and grind. I got the coffee machine back after that, but I still have the same problems.
I tried to exchange the machine, but was told I had to send it in again.
Problems:
Grinding beans:
Always very coarse. I have the feeling that they don't get 'fine' enough. I always follow the instructions, but I don't get the desired result.
The grinder must be running so that you can only change the grind level one step at a time. Who came up with that? And you can't see anywhere which level you are currently at.
Temper:
Good thinking, but not sure how well it works.
Brewing coffee:
Coffee still comes out poorly after consulting with specialist, following instructions, etc. I have already used up countless coffee beans.
I don't quite understand why you can't read off the grind, there is a scale printed on it.... I also wonder what kind of beans are used. Depending on the beans, I can only use level 3 at most, otherwise the pressure goes to the limit.
The tamper works very well for me. I always tamp 2 times and turn the piston with the lever pulled.
I've had the machine repaired 2 times because of pressure problems. The first time, no fault was found by the service centre, although it was obvious. Unfortunately, Kenwod's repair service is no good and you always have to exert a lot of pressure to get things running.
