The stand can withstand small gusts of wind without additional weighting, but we recommend weighting it for greater safety. We use thicker struts, which are twice as expensive but significantly increase the durability of your umbrella. It is advisable to avoid struts that may break after a few uses, which is common with thinner options. Typically, umbrella stands are rated for wind force 2, so it is best to set up the umbrella in a wind-protected area and retract it during light gusts. Our stand is sufficient for wind force 3. Filling the stand with water and sand is a good practice. For higher demands, we offer other umbrella stands with even greater weights. A general guideline for stability is: Umbrella up to 2 m: approximately 20 kg, Umbrella up to 3 m: approximately 40-50 kg, Umbrella up to 4 m: approximately 80-100 kg, Umbrella up to 5 m: approximately 125-150 kg. Note that calculations such as 1 kg per 10 cm diameter are not accurate, as they do not account for the increased canopy area.
