

Summit assault in the assortment: Bergzeit brings Galaxus over half a million sporting goods
The mountain sports outfitter "Bergzeit" is bringing its range of around 160,000 items to the Galaxus Germany marketplace. The outdoor expert is thus expanding the Galaxus sports range to more than half a million products.
From the saddle to the summit, from the gym to the wilderness: Galaxus customers are active in sports. "Our sports range has grown to over 400,000 products, and demand is increasing year after year," says Matthias Früh, Merchant Development Manager for Sports at Galaxus. Bestsellers include bicycle accessories, fitness equipment, and sports bags. Now, the Bavarian mountain sports outfitter Bergzeit is expanding the Galaxus range with around 160,000 additional items, including brands like Deuter, Scott, Mammut, and North Face.
"Bergzeit, with its decades of experience and specialization in mountain sports, takes us a big step forward," says Matthias. Through this integration, our sports range will grow to more than half a million products. "Bergzeit is particularly strong in sports clothing and shoes, but bags, backpacks, and tents also complement our range."
Sandra Gentsch, Teamlead Marketplaces at Bergzeit: "With Galaxus Germany, we are opening up a marketplace that consciously differentiates itself through quality, editorial content, and user transparency. This positioning aligns very well with our aspiration to market our products in the right context and not purely on price." At the same time, Bergzeit sees great potential to establish itself early on a growing platform and to sustainably develop its brands there. "For us, this is a long-term building block in our marketplace strategy," says Gentsch.
Bergzeit does not pay basic fees, just like all other marketplace retailers at Galaxus. A commission is only due for products actually sold. The company is already familiar with this concept from Switzerland, as Bergzeit has been selling its products on the Galaxus.ch marketplace since 2018.
400 selected retailers already active in Germany
Since the launch of the Galaxus marketplace at the beginning of 2023, 400 retailers from various product categories have already joined. What makes Galaxus special: the marketplace is selective, meaning not everyone gets in. The Galaxus team checks partners in advance for product range fit and quality criteria such as delivery times and reliability. Collaboration only begins after successful vetting.
