    Worn Exos HDDs on sale as "refurbished"?

    I bought 2 Exos x18 16TB hard drives yesterday: (https://www.digitec.ch/de/s1/product/seagate-exos-x18-st16000nm000j-refurbished-16-tb-35-cmr-festplatte-57426660?supplier=406802) SMART vs FARM shows a clear deception: Power On Hours: SMART data showed: 0 hours FARM data shows: 25,426 hours (almost 3 years) Power Cycle Count: SMART data showed: 2 FARM data shows: 31 Usage Statistics (completely hidden in SMART): Total Read Commands: 825,793,421 Total Write Commands: 105,556,255 Logical Sectors Written: 50,072,754,537 Logical Sectors Read: 211,029,323,023 Per-Head Write Hours: Each head has between 5,700-6,800 hours of write time I received very similar values for the 2nd drive. Digitec description: "Origin: possibly already in use. Condition: Refurbished. 2 year warranty via Digitec Galaxus.". Possibly already in use and condition: refurbished sound very deceptive in retrospect. Why was the SMART data wiped? Where is the refurbishment certificate? At least a labelling or grading? I'm absolutely disappointed with Digitec, because the HDDs look like new at first glance, but if you take a closer look, it looks like a rather heavily worn hard drive and normally they only look at SMART. Is there an official statement on this? Opinions from the Community?

    (M2 "SD" card) Adapter

    Hello. I have found 2 old "SD cards" of mine. I would like to transfer the old files to my PC. Now I have the problem that they are not normal mini sd-cards or have a different (wider) shaft and I can't put them into a normal sd-card adapter. They look almost like a normal mini sd-card but of a different type. on this card it only says M2. one is the Sony brand and one is SanDisk. is there an adapter for these "old" models? Thank you very much.

    Sort by price/amount

    I see digitec has already implemented a nice box next to the price that tells you the price per TB for example. Could this be also implemented while sorting? It could also be implemented in the filters similarly to the price where you can set up your own range. Thanks!

    USB Stick vs CFexpress - for Windows

    Are CFexpress an alternative to USB sticks? Do CFexpress via card reader on USB 3.2/Gen 2 also achieve the advertised speeds on a Windows PC? I need a fast, secure and very small medium for images (with Acronis). Do you have any experience?

    Cryptocurrency "Chia

    Since I have unused storage space on my NAS at home, I started farming Chia 10 days ago. Are there other people who are already doing this or is it not an issue for you at the moment? And @Digitec/Galaxus, are you already seeing an increase in hard drive sales or is this not yet the case? I'm looking forward to your answers/comments :)

    Upgrade

    Hi, I have an i5 750 @2.67ghz (I don't know if I can overclock it, but it doesn't look like it as it's some Dell motherboard). I have a budget of 250fr that I want to stick to. I have already reserved 130fr for more Ram,SSD + HDD and a power supply adapter. I also have a 500w power supply that should work with the adapter. Now the question is what kind of graphics card?(120fr. budget) I often read about the 750Ti, but wanted to make sure if there are other possibilities? E.g. also on the second-hand market.

    GB=Go ?

    Good morning Digitec Community! When I got up today, I opened the advent calendar door with the number 20, but when I scrolled down, I saw something strange. For example, the notebooks said: Ssd 256 Go . Logically, it should say: Ssd 256 GB. So I thought to myself, well, it's still early, maybe you don't see it right. However, when I opened the door from the 20th of December, the Amd graphics card was inside, but instead of 8GB vram, it also had 8 GB. Then I looked for memory to see if maybe only the advent calendar had a bug, but no, every ssd and hdd was labelled with the number of gigabytes and go. Strange ! Is it the same for you or is my Digitec/Smartphone just spinning? Greetings

    Access times

    What happened to the "access time" specification for SSDs and HDDs? I haven't been involved with computer hardware for a while and it used to be that you should look at access time rather than data rate. Is that no longer the case?

    Compatible M.2 SSD for HP Envy 24-n050nz

    I am looking for a working M.2 SSD with ~250GB for my HP Envy 24-n050nz as a replacement for the existing MZ-HPV 1280 with 128GB. I have already tried a Samsung 970EVO, but it cannot be installed. Does anyone have a tip? Thanks in advance
