- Fire TV stick works in all countries
- It only needs a TV with HDMI port and internet access.
- Fire TV is an Android device with many apps (Amazon Prime Video, Disney +, Apple TV+, Netflix, VLC, Kodi ...Sunrise UPC TV)
- For Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, Disney, Apple TV, Sunrise UPC Tv you need subscription.
- It is also good for holidays (you use your own Fire TV stick in e.g. Hotel TV - only HDMI and internet - WiFi))
You need an Amazon account (only registration with Amazon) for app download. You have to pay for Amazon Prime.
Hello, was able to solve it myself........
For replay and recording you need Zattoo Premium, which I also subscribed to....only my subscription expired and fell into "Zattoo Free Mode" exactly when I tested the Fire TV Stick. Replay and recording are not possible in Free mode.
Everything works fine now. Embarrassing, I know........
Hello,
I would also add that it may also depend on your interest in the android TV plus. If you are satisfied with the different streaming services (amazon, netflix, disney, apple tv), it will be fine especially for the price.
But if you want more applications (Play RTS for example), then you'll have to go for a chrome cast compatible device like the Shield TV (which is what I did afterwards).
For me, the wifi is good. Because I also had wifi problems and I was able to watch 4k content without any problem.
I had Amazon prime and it was working on Fire TV 4K. It was just necessary to install app Amazon prime and login again. If your beamer has HDMI port, you can use Amazon Fire TV.
The different dealer:
100.- or now even 107.70 from Jacob (DE)
61.40 from Digitec
if it is not from Digitec itself, the retailer is shown above [add to cart].
It is highly recommended. It works really well as an Android TV.
There is no Sunrise Neo TV app for Amazon Fire. Sunrise can't do that or not at the moment.
Stick is really good
- for travelling (very small). You can always use this with any TV (hotel ...) and use your own Netflix, Disney+, Apple TV+.
- There are many apps -
- With Kodi you can watch your own movies/videos or music, photos - streaming from NAS (4k without any problem)
- It is possible to install other IPTV apps (with or without subscription).
- When Amazon Prime video comes with better offer in CH ...
I hope one can understand my broken German
There is also an address in the App Store for digital content, which must be changed to "Switzerland" if, as in my case, "Germany" is selected for whatever reason. ...solved.
The latter offers somewhat newer standards. But it doesn't really matter. From the controller, both look like 2nd gen.
Digitec will not answer here, you are in the community. You have to send an email for that.
The first generation Fire TV Stick is slightly shorter and narrower and has a basic remote control. The second-generation Fire TV Stick is slightly longer and wider and has a longer remote control with a microphone that allows voice searches.
Selber rausgefunden: "Press the Play/Pause and Select button simultaneously. Hold the buttons for at least five seconds. The Fire Stick will start to reset on releasing the buttons."
Nach dem Reset hat es funktioniert.
Yes, the Apple TV app is available and works perfectly!
Too bad Prime Video doesn't work in Switzerland (since the last update not even indirectly via Silk browser), otherwise the Fire TV Stick would be the perfect streaming device...
I just checked, the app doesn't exist.
I think they'd rather sell their own box.
You should actually get it from them for cheap / free if you already have UPC TV.
Hello Ferit1981
Yes, you can watch everything in Switzerland on the Fire TV Stick.
I use Zattoo and Youtube the most and it works perfectly, but it is recommended to set up an Amazon account to use Alexa as well. Since it sometimes causes problems in Switzerland, I simply selected an address in Germany as the main address and Alexa works perfectly in Switzerland.
No, unfortunately it does not work. I bought it from Digitec in the belief that it would work, but unfortunately Digitec has not announced this anywhere. In any case, the product is completely useless here in Switzerland. Hands off.
As far as I know, you can only watch Netflix HD (not even FullHD) with the Fire TV Stick. So if you want Netflix with 4K, I would recommend another product.
