It's difficult with the charging function. As far as I know, there is no product for this. I would recommend a USB-C <---> RJ45 adapter purely for the network connection.

Hi, A USB 3.0 port can deliver a max 0.9A. However the single USB C port on the rear of this device would have no problem to feed 2.5A. A word of caution: the RasPi is notoriously sensitive for the actual power supply voltage, which should be min. 5.0V (for the RasPi 4 the requirement is 5.1V). Generic USB ports or phone chargers does not guarantee this.

Hey, I'm using it with a Macbook Pro from 2019 and it works perfectly fine. Maybe there is an issue with the latest MacOS or it's the M1-architecture that causes the troubles. Do you have the possibility to check it with another PC or Macbook, to see if the device itself maybe has a harware failure?

Servus, we have 2 of these installed in the management, I am not aware if there are any difficulties between the box and the screen. The management would contact me immediately if there were... Of course, there are many possible faults: computing power, too many procedures on the bus, and last but not least, the Icy Box itself. Technician hours are expensive and exceed the value of the box by far. Why don't you order a new one and try it out? You are still under warranty for both devices ... Greetings from Munich

I strongly think that your Icy Box has a fault, with me it works perfectly with HDMI on the TV as well as now with PC monitor on the MSI Prestige14 inch, think that the fault is not on the PC, ev if you have an ancient operating system on the PC like W2000 or Millennium or so, I have W10. no I really think your box has a fault and you have to have it replaced. Otherwise, here's how I do it, Icy Box connected to the PC, is funnily enough recognised as a sound device, but works perfectly when I now plug in HDMI, even if I restart with HDMI contact, it works, only once the screen was black and I had to cancel and restart. Hope this helps.

Hello Navigator82, I bought the same one and just tried it on the TV with the HDMI, plugged into the Icy Box, it worked without any problems, I just had to set the TV to this cable and then it was possible without an extra power supply for the Icy Box, so only via USB power supply via the laptop. I can't tell you about VGA, because I don't have such a screen. Try it out on the TV like I did, they all have HDMI nowadays, otherwise hmm if everything doesn't work it could well be that the fault lies with your Icy Box, difficult to say.

Helpful answer

You hang this "docking station" between your power supply unit and the computer. This means that your power supply goes into the dock and the plug of the dock goes into your computer.

Is it possible that your monitor does not support 4k (UHD)? If so, you have bought the wrong adapter. This adapter cannot support 4k at 60hz. I suspect that this is your problem.
