If your notebook has USB C then yes.
Hi Nicolas, sorry for your bad experience. I have no complaints re. my copy, it just works as it should. Regards /Antal
I use the box on a Lenovo Yoga. It works perfectly. I only have problems when an extension cable is used between the box and the laptop. Then only the power supply works.
Hi menenius, I had tried it and it didn't work for me.
Hello and no, it doesn't need to be connected to a power supply or anything like that. Goes via USB-C power supply - https://icybox.de/product.php?id=21
It's difficult with the charging function. As far as I know, there is no product for this. I would recommend a USB-C <---> RJ45 adapter purely for the network connection.
Hi, A USB 3.0 port can deliver a max 0.9A. However the single USB C port on the rear of this device would have no problem to feed 2.5A. A word of caution: the RasPi is notoriously sensitive for the actual power supply voltage, which should be min. 5.0V (for the RasPi 4 the requirement is 5.1V). Generic USB ports or phone chargers does not guarantee this.
Hey, I'm using it with a Macbook Pro from 2019 and it works perfectly fine. Maybe there is an issue with the latest MacOS or it's the M1-architecture that causes the troubles. Do you have the possibility to check it with another PC or Macbook, to see if the device itself maybe has a harware failure?
Servus, we have 2 of these installed in the management, I am not aware if there are any difficulties between the box and the screen. The management would contact me immediately if there were... Of course, there are many possible faults: computing power, too many procedures on the bus, and last but not least, the Icy Box itself. Technician hours are expensive and exceed the value of the box by far. Why don't you order a new one and try it out? You are still under warranty for both devices ... Greetings from Munich
Yes it’s work properly, but you can’t use HDMI and VGA to different screen. It’s the same view. This model is better as internal one, because it didnt overheat the mac. The doc is one my workspace and i have a little one for travel.
I strongly think that your Icy Box has a fault, with me it works perfectly with HDMI on the TV as well as now with PC monitor on the MSI Prestige14 inch, think that the fault is not on the PC, ev if you have an ancient operating system on the PC like W2000 or Millennium or so, I have W10. no I really think your box has a fault and you have to have it replaced. Otherwise, here's how I do it, Icy Box connected to the PC, is funnily enough recognised as a sound device, but works perfectly when I now plug in HDMI, even if I restart with HDMI contact, it works, only once the screen was black and I had to cancel and restart. Hope this helps.
Hello Navigator82, I bought the same one and just tried it on the TV with the HDMI, plugged into the Icy Box, it worked without any problems, I just had to set the TV to this cable and then it was possible without an extra power supply for the Icy Box, so only via USB power supply via the laptop. I can't tell you about VGA, because I don't have such a screen. Try it out on the TV like I did, they all have HDMI nowadays, otherwise hmm if everything doesn't work it could well be that the fault lies with your Icy Box, difficult to say.
The dock does not have a USB-C port, only the charger can be connected to the USB-C port.
Please contact customer service directly regarding questions about your order and delivery.
I can't determine that with me, back with it
RJ45 port and HDMI port certainly work with the iPad Pro 2018. I've never tried the other ports....
This docking station is normally compatible with your Lenovo, as it is designed to work with the vast majority of Windows devices. A USB Type-C interface with Power Delivery 3.0 up to 100W also allows you to charge your device.
You hang this "docking station" between your power supply unit and the computer. This means that your power supply goes into the dock and the plug of the dock goes into your computer.
Maybe you have to power your laptop at the same time. What I mean is: you connect the icy box to you laptop and put your usb-c charging cable in the icy box as well.
Is it possible that your monitor does not support 4k (UHD)? If so, you have bought the wrong adapter. This adapter cannot support 4k at 60hz. I suspect that this is your problem.
Unfortunately I have no idea
