Most manufacturers require defective items to be returned in their entirety to the service centre, even if it is obvious that the problem is with a specific part.
Our staff will probably have suggested this to you, but it is normally possible to obtain a loan telephone for the duration of the repairs at our branches.
You can simply buy the original "Fairphone Dual-port Charger". This supports 30W charging with usb c.
Fairphone Dual-port Charger (EU) (30 W)
You would then only need a USB C to C cable that supports this, but most cables should support this.
I am also wondering at the moment. I was notified twice of a delay, currently for 21 September. According to the information on the item, however, the devices are in stock and if I order today, it will be delivered tomorrow. Somewhere the details are not correct (either the delay for my order or the details for the item today).
Unfortunately, we cannot offer the Fairphone with /e/OS pre-installed. The 24 months is our retailer warranty, during which time a service case can be handled directly by us. In the event that there is an even longer manufacturer's warranty, as you indicate here, a service case can also be initiated directly via the manufacturer after these 24 months.
Such products may still have the Android 13 system installed. However, you can update the system after receiving it and end up with Android 14 installed.
We offer the general 24 months Bring In warranty, so that you can benefit from a further 3 years warranty, you must register your Fairphone on their website after completing the purchase (it doesn't matter where you bought it). You can find more information on the manufacturer's website: https://shop.fairphone.com/en/warranty
Thank you all for your replies.
But in fact, my intention is to order from Digitec, as I don't know anything about the efficiency of ordering abroad directly from the manufacturer.
Have a great day and a happy new year!
The Fairphone 5 supports Bluetooth version 5.2 including Bluetooth Low Energy (LE). However, Bluetooth LE does not automatically mean that Bluetooth LE Audio (the new audio transmission with LC3 codec and extended functions) is supported. As things stand, it has not been clearly confirmed whether Bluetooth LE Audio is actively supported on the Fairphone 5, although the Qualcomm FastConnect 6900 chip used could theoretically support BLE Audio. Official information from Fairphone is not clearly available.
Hello!
I found this article on the official Fairphone forums:
https://support.fairphone.com/hc/en-us/articles/9839096704913-Charge-your-Fairphone#h_01G9YPPXBS2D0P15XZF8QAE4GY
9V 3A is recommended by Fairphone, the standard is Fastcharge 4.0 from Qualcomm, and that goes from 5V to 20V...
In the forum post, some users report that it charges VERY slowly (6+ days) when switched off with a 1A (probably 5V) charger.
It's a big battery, and it certainly needs a minimum of amps to charge it... I had to research the physics behind this, but a 5Volt 1Amp charger is probably not enough.
What about the PC/laptop? Many modern devices have 5V 2A ports for charging other devices...
Hello,
I've switched from the iPhone 6 to the Fairphone 5. Of course it's bigger, I already thought the iPhone 6 was too big compared to the 4 ^^'.
In the end, it doesn't bother me any more, the most annoying thing is using it with one hand to click in a corner (there's a "One-handed mode" option that reduces the screen size if necessary). On the other hand, given its size, I'm more likely to use it instead of a tablet or even a computer to watch videos or surf the web.
The phone won't start.
Hello. My Fairphone 5 simply won't start, it's stuck on the blue screen with the message "FAIRPHONE Change in is your hands".
Successive attempts to restart have changed nothing. Pressing the VOLUME - key and the main button at the same time gave access to more technical boot options (Restart bootloader, Power Off, START or Recovery mode) but nothing happened. This is the second time this has happened with my device. As I was in urgent need of something like this, the previous time I had no choice but to choose the Factory reset option. But this time, I have neither the time nor the inclination to spend time reinstalling everything.
I'm offering a bottle to whoever has THE solution.
Thanks in advance and have a great day!
Can Digitec supply me with a replacement battery for the Fairphone 5 ?
Fairphone 5 switches itself off and has to be restarted several times a day.
- Problem since commissioning
- Only switches off if the device is not used for a short time
- Never switches off when device is in use or on charger
Spent several hours trying to solve the problem.
Tips from forums:
- Deactivate 5G mobile network (without success)
- Remove SD card (without success)
- Replace SIM card with eSIM (without success)
- Replace battery (not possible, replacement battery apparently not yet available anywhere)
Tips from Fairphone Support:
- List with many measures worked through (without success)
- I would like to avoid the last point, a total reset, so that I don't have to set everything up again.
A total reset would be very problematic for me because a complete reinstallation
associated with a great deal of time.
I use the device for business and private purposes all the time.
Instead of a total reset, I would like to use a different battery to rule out this source of error.
A replacement battery should be easily available for an explicitly sustainable and repairable Fairpone 5
should be readily available
Can Digitec send me a replacement battery?
Hi
I'm also looking for batteries for the Fairphone 5 on a weekly basis - but for a different reason, I just want to have a backup battery. Fairphone itself doesn't offer any on their website yet. I think they will only become available once most of the smartphones have been sold. Although the Fairphone easily lasts a day - I always have at least 50% left in the evening - I want to be able to fall back on a second battery.
Regarding your problem: I would return the Fairphone as a warranty claim. It hardly seems to be a battery problem. You still have a long warranty and should make use of it. I hope you enjoy your new Fairphone

Who knows the problem or the solution?
- Problem has existed since commissioning (purchase 7 weeks ago, pre-order)
- Switches off if the appliance is not used for a moment
- Switch-off does not occur when the appliance is in use or the charger is connected

Tips from Fairphone Support (after 5-6 days, in English):
- List with many measures worked through (without success)
- I would like to avoid the last point, total reset, so that I don't have to set everything up again
Before the total reset, I would insert a different battery, if available, to rule out this source of error.
First of all: I have no similar problems with the device.
There is a detailed article on the topic in the Fairphone user forum: https://forum.fairphone.com/t/a-little-guide-to-random-reboots/36159
The recommendations there are probably the same as the list you received from support.
Precisely because you had the problem from the start, I would exchange the device if I were you. There is a lot to suggest that you have got a mechanically faulty device. This is annoying, but in my opinion, further tinkering will only prolong the trouble.
I hope you get a new device quickly and are as happy with it as I am.
